The answer is Yes. You can play GTA 5 without a graphic card. The only downside is you will have to be prepared to play it on the lowest setting, which has laggy gameplay. If you have a discrete GPU, it is a good option to allow you to play GTA 5 game with a better experience.
How Can I Run GTA 5?
GTA 5 was first released on the Xbox 360 and PS3, so the GTA V PC system requirements are adequately low. The best gaming CPU’s have come a long way, but an AMD Phenom 9850 and Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 from more than ten years ago are still adequate to meet minimum system requirements for the GTA 5 PC.
Also, if you are still using a 13-year-old Nvidia GeForce 9800 GT or AMD Radeon HD 4870, Los Santos gates will be open to you. You will require four GB of Ram and, due to the GTA 5 game size, 72 GB of free storage space. However, Rockstar advises stretching to 8 GB Ram and freeing up to that 72 GB on an SSD for enhanced loading times.
When you stretch to AMD Radeon HD 7870 or Nvidia GeForce GTX 660, it will give you an easier and better experience. An Intel Core i5-3470 and AMD X8 FX-8350 will be required to meet the GTA 5 PC system requirements.
GTA 5 PC Download
You can buy the game from Rockstar Store, Steam, or Epic Games Store. Many storefronts offer a GTA 5 download. The most recent GTA 5 came on 13th December 2022. The Los Santos Drug Wars update adds Free mode missions, new Story Missions, a new business for players to manage, and a variety of experience improvements, including creator, visual, and creator updates.
GTA 5 Settings
This game is relatively old since it made its first debut in 2015 and is still as popular as the day it was launched. While it was released, high-end rigs struggled to run the game at High and Ultra settings, but recent advancements in GPUs and CPUs have made running GTA 5 much easier. Install GTA 5 on an SSD to reduce the time spent staring at loading screens.
Keep texture quality relatively high to make the game look decent on a lower-end system. If you are having problems maintaining a high or stable frame, switch the anti-aliasing option from MSAA to FXAA or completely turn off the setting. Post-FX settings like HDR lighting, bloom, and heat shimmer can greatly affect performance. Keep these settings, in particular, a step or two below their recommended settings to help with FPS gains.
